or as long as I can remember I was always
curious and passionate about food. I could never read enough cookbooks
or magazines explaining recipes and procedure. Julia Child and Graham
Kerr were my inspirations in the kitchen. My home growing up was always
filled with delicious aromas of fresh baked pies, homemade bread,
cookies, quiches and cakes. While at college I studied business, but always
felt I needed to be in the kitchen. So after 20 years of a career in
finance and event planning, I enrolled at the French Culinary in New York
City and graduated from their bread and pastry arts program. The
journey to learn and apply what I had grown up doing was a match made in
heaven.
I soon started working for the caterer Sterling
Affair. Catering for me is challenging and creative. Every client is different, and I enjoy exceeding my client's expectations by creating unique, delicious sweets.
Under the direction of Anne Heap of Pink Cake Box, I learned to make the perfect cake. I worked with the very talented pastry chef Erica Leahy from Craft Restaurant Group. When I thought I knew everything, Erica polished up my techniques and together we did some amazing desserts and cakes. I thank her for so much of my knowledge.
I am so lucky to have found my passion, and I believe there is a kid in all of us when it comes to sweets. Let us make your next event mad good.
